YANKEES
Ever since 1996 I have had at least one Yankees cap in my collection. I wear it quite frequently, nearly every other day with exceptions though. For me the Yankees cap has nothing to do with the baseball team at all, it represents my fascination of New York City and everything that the city stands for.
Being from Europe, where it's rare to see people wearing American baseball caps, the Yankees cap has become the signature piece in my appearance, something that separates me from the rest. After moving to New York and seeing the Yankees sign on every street corner, I don't feel so unique anymore.
But what does the Yankees cap mean on the streets of New York? It depends on who's asked, for me the meaning stays the same.
